In August 2019 Mercy Hands organized two job fairs for young skilled people, one in Baghdad and the other in Basra.
In partnership with AMAR US, Mercy Hands operates six ACE (Active Community Engagement) Centers in three governorates, Baghdad, Basra, and Muthanna. In these ACE Centers, young people receive job skills training and English lessons.
Mercy Hands organizes job fairs to give job seekers, who have recently graduated from ACE Centers, the opportunity to learn more about potential employers and the opportunities available. The job fair also allows organizations to meet potential employees in an informal setting. The focus is on sharing information between organizations and job seekers.
On the sidelines of the fair, ACE Centers' team conducted job skills workshops, such as "writing a professional CV" and " marketing yourself techniques".
Many local media agencies covered the job fair, here is a highlight posted by one local news agency.
