Project Description:

MH is implementing a livelihood project, funded by UNDP, in the city of Basra. The second output of this project aims at implementing Eight vocational training courses in sectors of construction, culture, ecotourism and eco-sustainable tourism; twelve business training workshops; and two job fairs. In order to implement such activities, MH is looking for two instructors who will be in charge of delivering training to selected participants within the vocational training center.

 

Position Description

The instructors are responsible for providing trainings to the vocational training participants in the (Electrical Maintenance - electrical infrastructure installation)

 

The theoretical training and site work are expected to provide young people with the relevant background, skills and hands-on experience to enable them to access future employment opportunities in the construction and other asset intensive sectors in Iraq.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and design training curriculum, teaching and learning materials and lessons plans

  • Initiate, facilitate and moderate discussions among participants of the vocational trainings

  • Evaluate and grade participants’ work

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualification & Preferred Skills:

 

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Minimum Experience: 3 years of teaching experience. Previous working experience in humanitarian/recovery contexts is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of both Arabic and English, written and spoken

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent delivery of teaching and learning for a diverse group of students

  • Ability to follow instructions clearly to achieve desired results

  • Confident in teaching the relevant material and dealing with a group of students inside a classroom/vocational training center

Note from the recruiters: the instructors (trainer) should expect to work 8 hours / 5 days a week.  Conduct more than 72 training hours per month to the selected of at least 50 beneficiaries within total duration of contract of 2 months. The recruitment priority will be given the applicants who have already curriculum amount for the topic that mentioned on post description.
