Project Description:

MH is implementing a livelihood project, funded by UNDP, in the city of Basra. The second output of this project aims at implementing eight vocational training courses in sectors of construction, culture, ecotourism and eco-sustainable tourism; twelve business training workshops; and two job fairs. In order to implement such activities, MH is looking for one childcare teacher who will work in the vocational training center.

 

Position Description

The childcare teacher is responsible for planning and implementing child care and educational activities for assigned children in the center.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and implement the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for children

  • Provide care and protection for assigned children

  • Maintain a physical environment conductive to children’s growth and development

  • Consider and provide for the needs of the individual child in relationship to his/her cultural and socioeconomic background, emotional or physical handicaps

  • Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child

  • Comply with covid-19 prevention measures and ensure that assigned equipment and materials are adequately maintained in safe working order

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualification & Preferred Skills:

 

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Minimum Experience: 2-3 years of childcare experience. Previous working experience in humanitarian/recovery contexts is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of both Arabic, written and spoken

  • Knowledge of English is an asset

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent way of dealing with children in a caring, compassionate way

  • Ability to follow instructions clearly to achieve desired results
